About Inspiria

Inspiria is a young and dynamic youth organization in Latvia, dedicated to inspiring and supporting young people in leading active and healthy lifestyles. Our mission is to drive positive social change by preserving environmental and cultural heritage, while fostering youth creativity and strengthening their political and social participation.

#Active lifestyle

We believe that an empowered and engaged youth is a vital force in building a sustainable and inclusive future. To achieve this, we organize events, educational workshops, and initiatives that help young people develop essential skills, gain knowledge, and become valuable members of society on both a local and international scale.

An organization focused on youth work, dedicated to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, preserving environmental and cultural heritage, and organizing events and educational seminars. By fostering political and social engagement among young people, as well as driving innovation and international cooperation, the organization provides a wide spectrum of activities and experiences:

Promoting an Active and Healthy Lifestyle across schools in Riga, Latvia

We support youth of all fitness levels in gradually training for distance running. Our organization has streamlined this process by providing training schedules, group runs, and promoting healthy eating habits alongside physical activity. We collaborate with educational experts, including the Youth Guard (Jaunsardze) and the Scouts and Guides. The Youth Guard operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence, while the Latvian Scout and Guide Central Organization offers children and youth opportunities for personal growth and character building through engaging adventure-based activities and life-skill development. We build real-world alliances where multiple organizations implement joint training programs, combining them with nutritional education and the provision of healthy snacks.

Environmental Protection along the Baltic Sea

Our NGO organizes cleanup campaigns in collaboration with local youth during coastal hiking trips. These campaigns raise awareness about the impact of plastic pollution on marine life. We host workshops on reducing plastic consumption and conduct microplastic demonstrations for the public. Our flagship event is The Big Cleanup (Lielā talka), an initiative aimed at cleaning up the entire country.

Organizing Educational Events

We participate in EU Code Week Latvia, an annual event dedicated to demystifying computer science and making programming accessible to everyone, including youth. We partner with the Youth Programming and Technology Center to organize and promote coding globally, providing free online learning materials for teachers and students. Numerous schools and after-school programs take part in these initiatives.

Fostering Innovation and International Cooperation in Latvia

During Vidzeme Innovation Week 2024 (VIN2024), held from February 26 to March 1, our NGO, together with over 20 event organizers, invited young people to attend a total of 35 events. The content was tailored for representatives across various sectors, including food producers, catering service providers, farmers, public administration employees, researchers, and digitalization specialists.

Promoting Social and Political Engagement

We organize youth voting initiatives focused on increasing voter turnout by providing information on voter registration, hosting educational events, and fostering political discourse among young people. We conduct workshops in collaboration with the Unity (Vienotība) party. Founded on August 6, 2011, through the merger of several parties, Unity is the largest centrist party in Latvia, working to ensure a balance between European liberal, conservative, and social values.

Our goal is to build a brighter and more inclusive future, fostering positive impact across local, national, and global levels.

Meet Matīss and Deniss – and explore their journey from environmental advocates to community activists.

Matiss

Barcelona

A passionate environmental advocate, he participated in an Erasmus+ project focused on sustainable development. His team traveled through various European cities to explore local initiatives and best practices in sustainable living.

In Barcelona, Matīss helped organize a community garden project, teaching local residents about organic gardening and the importance of sustainable food systems. He also took part in beach cleanups, raising awareness about marine pollution. Later, in Copenhagen, he gained insights into the city’s innovative waste management system and developed a proposal for a similar system in his hometown. Inspired by these experiences, Matīss founded his own sustainable business producing eco-friendly cleaning products and remains actively involved in local environmental campaigns.

Deniss

Berlin

An advocate for social justice, he took part in an Erasmus+ project aimed at fostering youth civic engagement. His team developed a campaign to promote youth involvement in local politics.

In Berlin, Deniss attended workshops on lobbying and advocacy. He acquired skills in effective communication with public officials and learned how to organize grassroots movements. Later, in Brussels, he met with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to discuss youth unemployment and social inclusion. Deniss co-founded a youth organization that promotes civic engagement. Since then, he has organized numerous activities, including youth debates, voter registration campaigns, and advocacy initiatives.
